Car free Sark goes Wireless
Horse-drawn carriages may still be a main mode
of transport in Sark, but the island hall has become a hotspot for
the latest technology.
Sure, the new brand for Cable & Wireless,
has created a wireless ‘hot spot’ where residents and visitors can
now surf the world wide web for free using a wireless-enabled
laptop.
Simon Elmont, engineer for Sure in Sark, said
that the hot spot is already in great demand.
“The island hall is the hub of Sark, and now
there are often people sitting around with laptops browsing the
web. I am very glad that they are taking advantage of it.”
In addition to this there is now an extra
location for people to top-up their Sure mobile Pay as you go
accounts. The Bel Air Inn is joining Gallery Stores in offering the
service. Sure Mobile Pay as you go customers can also top-up online
at
www.surecw.com or by
calling (01481) 700700.
