Roaming onto Airtel
We have been made aware that Sure customers in
Jersey and Guernsey were able to roam onto Airtel’s
network over the Easter weekend.
As a result of that issue – which was caused by
Airtel’s engineers – some Sure customers may have received an
errant text message welcoming them to the Airtel network.
That problem has now been resolved. If any
customers are 'stuck' on the network they will need to turn their
phones off and on again.
We will be pursuing this serious matter with
Airtel and the local regulators at the highest levels and will
advise customers in due course about what to do about any charges
wrongly incurred when roaming. Updates on this issue will be posted
