Professional BMX and skateboarders to perform on Lib Day
A professional team of BMX riders and
skateboarders will be performing on Liberation Day, thanks to
Sure.
Sure has sponsored specialist performers who
will be showing off their skills and performing tricks throughout
the day at a special ramp set-up by the bus terminus.
The Kings Ramps are an internationally renowned
demonstration and performance team from the UK, and have performed
at Glastonbury, Creamfields, and The Newquay Boardmasters Festival,
among other prestigious events.
The riders and skaters will be on hand between
11.00am and 5.00pm on Liberation Day to offer advice and tuition to
youngsters, and the more experienced will have a chance to ride
alongside the pros.
As well as their airborne antics, the King
Ramps team will also be bringing over their own DJs to get the
crowd going.
Steve Smith, head of public relations for Sure
Channel Islands and Isle of Man, said that the ramp, skaters and
BMX riders will add to the Liberation Day festivities.
”It is great that we are able to support this
professional display which will provide a spectacle for onlookers
and a great opportunity for experienced local skateboarders to try
out their own tricks on the ramps. The music and tricks will set a
really good atmosphere around the terminus,” he said.
