Sure’s online shop a first for Guernsey

A new online shop where mobile customers can log on and buy a new handset or sign up to a Pay monthly or Pay as you go price plan is a first for Guernsey.

Sure is the first local mobile operator to launch an online store where all customers can sign up via the internet. They can even choose their own number and have a new handset delivered to their door the next day.

The site at www.surecw.com has the latest prices on the company’s full range of mobile phones, which includes all the major manufacturers. Visitors can either select the one they want and purchase it online, or browse the various devices before visiting the High Street store to buy in person.

Anyone signing up online will be able to purchase any of the range of monthly booster options, which provide bundles of texts from as little as 3p a message, to any network, or inclusive data downloads and roaming minutes.

Users can also sign up to Sure’s pay as you go Blackberry package, which was a first for Europe when it was launched last year

Sure’s Head of Online Marketing, Peter Levy said the new online Sure store is about offering islanders more choice, and more convenience.

“Most islanders are probably now familiar with buying products and services online, and also topping up online on www.surecw.com. This new facility provides all the convenience and flexibility that internet shopping has to offer. Whether islanders just want to browse and see what is available at our High Street store, or actually purchase a new contract or handset, they can now do it whenever and from wherever it suits them,” he said.

Currently the site can only be used to purchase a new pay monthly or prepay agreement, but Sure plans to add the option of renewing existing contracts. Sure will also be launching online bill management in the near future.

The option of reserving a number only applies to Pay monthly customers.
