Only four days until Midsummer Magic
The countdown has begun for Sure's Midsummer
Magic big movie extravaganza.
200 lucky islanders successfully applied for
tickets to Guernsey’s first ever drive-in, and they are now
available for collection from the Sure reception desk in Upland
Road.
Tickets which are not collected by 5.00pm on
Thursday (17 July) will be redistributed to other islanders who
applied for tickets online.
Over the last three years the Sure big screen
has attracted thousands of beachgoers and once again the public
have chosen the films they most want to see. Sure’s head of PR,
Steve Smith said that the public have again chosen a corking
line-up.
A total of 13 blockbusters will be screened
over the five days of Midsummer Magic, which this year gets
underway with Guernsey’s first ever drive-in movie, Grease, at
Salerie Corner on Saturday 19 July.
The big screen then moves to the beach at Cobo,
where Sure will be showing three films a day from Sunday 20 July to
Wednesday 23 July. The entertainment will begin with family
matinees at 2pm and 5pm, followed by some all action excitement
each evening from 7.30pm.
Children’s favourite Bee Movie heads an all
star cast of family films in this year’s line-up, which also
includes other great family favourites.
And the final curtain will come down on
Wednesday evening with the showing of superhero action adventure
Fantastic Four: The Rise of Silver Surfer.
Mr Smith said that the films in this year’s
line-up will appeal to the full spectrum from adults to
toddlers.
“It promises to be another fun-packed week of
entertainment for the whole family and something for absolutely
everyone.”
