One bill improves customer experience
Sure’s billing system is being streamlined to
accommodate islanders’ changing habits.
The telecoms company has completed moving all
billing payments from quarterly to monthly and customers have begun
receiving their fixed line and broadband bills on a single
statement.
James McEwan, head of billing at Sure, said
that merging bills and making them monthly will benefit all
customers.
“With both bills on one statement it will be
easier for our customers to monitor their monthly outgoings.
Fixed line bills will no-longer have to be paid three months in
advance and customers will simply pay for one month of rental, plus
the call costs for the previous month.
“We are also extremely committed to the
environment and embrace any scheme that reduces the amount of paper
that we use. We already provide online billing for our Jersey
and Isle of Man customers and plan to introduce that in Guernsey
very soon,” he said.
Customers will continue to receive a 50p
discount for choosing to pay their single bill by direct
debit.
“The 50p discount was introduced many years ago
to incentivise land line customers to move away from paying by cash
or cheque. The majority of our customers now pay their bills by
direct debit because it removes the need to write out a cheque and
provides peace of mind that bills will always be paid on time. For
the moment we will continue to offer a 50p discount for those
paying their bill by direct debit,” he said
