THE FIRST 3GS iPHONES ARRIVE IN GUERNSEY

Sure has just announced that the first 3GS 32GB iPhones have arrived in the island.
Islanders have been patiently waiting for the latest version of the iPhone and operators have had waiting lists but Sure managed to use its extensive contacts to secure the first handsets for the people at the top of its waiting list.
Sure’s Marketing Director Paul Taylor said the 3GS iPhone is probably the most sought after phone for 2009.
“It offers the very latest in mobile technology and there has been a great response from customers keen to get their hands on one. Sure has been working hard to get them into the island as early as they possible could and we’re expecting more deliveries over the coming weeks,” he said.
Apple’s tagline for the handset is that it redefines what a mobile can do once again, and this is very true. With the range of features on offer, it acts as a phone, computer, mobile office and entertainment centre in one.
The sleek and stylish iPhone screen is 3.5 inches wide, and features multi-touch controls. Applications are accessed through its home screen, which can be customised by users and accessed during a call.
The iPhone offers the very latest in entertainment at your fingertips, with direct access to YouTube where you can download and watch videos in widescreen. It features an iPod, and allows users to buy music on the go direct from Apple’s iTunes store through its Wi-Fi system, giving direct access to more than six million songs.
With a built-in camera, enhanced on the 32GB model, the iPhone allows users to take and share photos easily and is perfect for capturing life on the go. It automatically syncs images to your PC or Mac, allows albums to be stored online and posts pictures directly to a personal MobileMe Gallery.
A new feature of the 32GB iPhone is the video camera function, with enhanced MMS. This model also features an in-built compass, which will make turn by turn navigation using Google maps possible in a way that hasn’t been with earlier versions.
