Sure staff backing England – on Sure TV
22nd June 2010
Staff at Sure in Guernsey will be backing
England in the office on Wednesday afternoon – watching through
Sure’s newest online launch.
Screens have been set up at the company’s
offices in Upland Road and Centenary House, and those interested in
the game will be allowed to take a two-hour break from 3pm tomorrow
(Wednesday 23 June) to catch England’s crucial final group game
with Slovenia.
Staff will be expected to make their time up at
a later date and customer service will be unaffected.
They will be watching the game via broadband on
Sure TV, a new concept due to be rolled out fully by Sure in
September this year.
Sure TV is similar to a satellite or cable
television service, but delivered through home broadband. A dozen
popular channels are available and there is also a wide range of
‘on demand’ content available, from single episodes of popular
series to full movies.
All Sure broadband customers will be able to
enjoy the service when it is fully launched in September. A working
demo is on show in stores and a trial is available to domestic
customers.
Sure’s HR Director Simon Little said:
“We know that in many workplaces everything stops when England play
in the World Cup. This is a great way for our staff to get a chance
to watch this crucial match – and try out our latest technology at
the same time.”
