12th July 2010
Cable & Wireless Guernsey has won a
prestigious international e-gaming award.
The company was named as Connectivity Supplier
of the Year at the E-Gaming Review awards evening in London. In its
sixth year, the EGR awards are the industry’s premier awards
ceremony, rewarding the best in the online gaming industry.
“This international award is a fantastic
endorsement of the high-intensity and high-value changes we have
made to our network in order to improve our provision to e-gaming
customers,” said Russ Sharman, Chief Technical Officer at Cable
& Wireless.
“Cable & Wireless Guernsey hosts four out
of top five global e-gaming companies, which is testament to our
technical expertise and the strength of our account
management.”
The company was also shortlisted for the Data
Centre of the Year award. Both awards were newly-introduced this
year as part of wider recognition for service providers and
business-to-business operators.
Sebastian Timpson, Publishing Director at
E-Gaming Review, congratulated the company on the award.
“Cable & Wireless have been servicing the
e-gaming industry for some years, and their commitment to the
sector, a highly reliable product and an international reach
enabled them to dominate this awards category,” he said.
The awards were presented by athletics legend
Steve Cram at a gala dinner evening held at London’s Old
Billingsgate venue.
