Roaming
Stay in touch away from the Channel Islands
One of the most useful features of mobile phones is the fact
that you can take them away with you so that you can stay in touch
with friends and family while you're out of the islands.
In order to use your Sure mobile in another country, you'll
need to check that we have a
'roaming
agreement' with at least one network in the country or
countries you are visiting.
To use BlackBerry, WAP, Picture Messaging or any other
GPRS-based services away from home, you will need access to a GPRS
network for
data roaming.
- You'll also need to check that you have the right
kind of phone for the country you're visiting.
- Extended Roaming Coverage:
A number of our
Roaming Partners offer extended mobile coverage into other
countries. This can lead to confusion. For example you may have
visited Barbados but see Jamaica as the visited destination
itemised on your bill. This is due to the Roaming Partner using a
single billing identifier covering multiple destinations.

- You should also note that when you are roaming
you will be charged to access your voicemail, and you may be
subject to charges when people leave you voicemail messages as
well. In order to avoid charges when people leave you
voicemail messages, the best thing to do is set your mobile up to
divert straight to your voicemail. To do this dial the
following number: **21*171#. To de-activate upon your return
dial the following number: ##21#.
