In the community

At Sure we believe it is important to give something back to support the local community. That's why we support so many charities, events and activities across the islands.

Guernsey

  • Set Sail Trust - Along with Deutsche Bank and Longport, Sure supports the Set Sail Trust, providing marine-based activities and raising awareness of Guernsey’s nautical history.
  • Tree of Joy - Sure joint-sponsors the Christmas-time Tree of Joy and is responsible for the yearly illumination of the tree.
  • Flying the Flag - Sure joint-sponsors the Flying the Flag project, which is responsible for maintenance of the mast and various community events based around the harbour.
  • Young Enterprise - Operating in Guernsey since 1982, Young Enterprise is a national education charity founded in the UK in 1963. The charity operates on a ‘learning by doing’ principle forging links between education and commerce with its stated mission, “To inspire and equip young people to learn and succeed through enterprise.”
  • Football Leagues - Sure is the official sponsor of Guernsey's Football leagues. From the Priaulx league to Womens and Youth leagues, each now bears the Sure name in recognition of our £60,000 three-year investment in the game.
  • Lords Taverners Cricket - We sponsor this fun annual cricket event based in Sark.
  • Swimmarathon - Sure is the Swimmarathon's main sponsor. Each year thousands of swimmers, young and old, meet at Beau Sejour to raise money for worthy local charities.
  • Guernsey Grid for Learning - Sure continues to work closely with the Education Council to develop the Guernsey Grid for Learning.
  • Free Wifi Hotspots - Sure supports the local community and visitors with free wireless high-speed internet access at Guille-Allez Library, the airport and harbour, Sark Island Hall and Alderney airport.
  • Midsummer Magic - We show major movies on a giant outdoor screen at various locations around the island for locals and visitors to enjoy free of charge.
  • Silver Surfer - We support the Silver Surfers at Home (SSAH) scheme, which aims to provide internet access for the Bailiwick’s residential homes for the elderly, by providing free broadband facilities.
  • Bridge to Sri Lanka - Sure supports the Bridge to Sri Lanka initiative with Free Internet and Blackberry Usage. The charity supports people in Sri Lanka affected by the 2006 Tsunami.
  • Mobilise Yourself - Mobilise yourself is a mobile phone recycling scheme which boosts Les Bourgs Hospice funding by £3.50 for each phone handed in. We provide collecting stations for these within our shops.

Isle of Man

  • Wish Upon a dream - This charity raises money for seriously ill children to grant them a wish. Sure is currently raising money on the island for a wish code named "Project Dolphin". It is to help a seriously-ill 7 year old boy take holidays with his family and swim with dolphins at a Portugese marine centre.

Jersey

  • Jersey Hospice - Sure’s charity of choice in Jersey is the Jersey Hospice. Sure supports the hospice with various sponsorship and fundraising events.
  • Sure Picture Show - We show major movies on a giant outdoor screen at Howard Davis Park for locals and visitors to enjoy free of charge.
