Sure's Hosting Service enables you to host your local network infrastructure in a Cable & Wireless data centre. We provide secure facilities for hosting your equipment and direct connection between that equipment and the internet. Each data centre is fully supported so that you can report faults and make service requests at any time of day or night.

All our data centres provide the reliable, high-performance infrastructure with full redundancy that is required to ensure that your equipment remains online 24 hours a day, seven days a week.

Sure's hosting space provided in the fully managed, state-of-the-art Guernsey ISC offers single cabinets measuring:

All power, air conditioning, smoke detection, fire suppression and security systems are monitored 24 hours a day, seven days a week, with skilled staff on duty to ensure that all systems are operating correctly.

As an additional service we can also provide on-site support of your equipment by performing remote or hands-on maintenance and support tasks, such as hard and soft reboots and console access.

The data centre is connected to the Cable & Wireless global IP (Internet Protocol) backbone – a single high-capacity IP network delivering integrated communications and quality of service worldwide – by dual high-capacity links. Connectivity between your hosted equipment and the internet is not provided as part of the Sure service and must be ordered separately. Cross-connects (copper or optical) can also be ordered to interconnect equipment housed in different cabinets or at different locations.

Sure installs your cabinet(s), infrastructure equipment and power. You can install, wire, configure, manage and maintain the network and server equipment housed in your cabinet(s). Alternatively, an additional Sure service is available offering the installation and wiring of your equipment.

no loss of connectivity or power thanks to support generators

The electrical power circuits at the Guernsey ISC are supplied by Guernsey Electricity via an on-site electrical substation. This is supported by a redundant UPS of 2 x 80 kVA (N + 1 redundancy, each unit providing half an hour of cover at full data centre capacity) and a diesel generator providing 425 kVA. A second generator is available should the first fail to start.

Each cabinet is supplied with a single CAT 5 patch panel with 24 ports. Additional patch panels are available. (CAT 5 can support data rates of up to 1000Mbs.)

The Guernsey ISC has a fully redundant heating, venting and air conditioning system (N + 1 redundancy), and VESDA smoke detection systems are fitted throughout. Fire suppression within the Sure ISC is a provided by a Hygood FM200 system (halon-free), which simply reduces the oxygen level in the environment and therefore quenches the fire.

Video camera surveillance systems enable each part of the floor area and external entrance to be monitored 24 hours a day, seven days a week. Airlock-style steel doors opened by electronic cards with PINs control physical access into the data centre. These cards are held by a strictly limited number of Sure personnel only, and the site is manned around the clock.

The intruder detection system raises an alert if floor or ceiling tiles are lifted without authorisation.

You can access the data centre and your cabinet whenever you want, as long the relevant security procedures have been followed and you are escorted by a Sure representative at all times.

Sure's systems and staff monitor all the equipment used to provide a stable and secure data centre environment 24 hours a day, seven days a week. If you require any monitoring or reporting services for equipment housed within the Guernsey ISC, they can be ordered separately.
