Check your Guernsey directory entry

Cable & Wireless is giving customers the chance to check their entries in the 100th printed edition of the Guernsey Directory before its publication.

Thanks to its innovative online facility, all the latest Directory information for the White Pages and Classified Section will be available at http://www.theguernseydirectory.com/. Customers can search for their details and advise Cable & Wireless of any changes before it goes to print.

The closing date for changes to customers’ text entries is Monday 9 January.

Data for the Guernsey Directory is gathered throughout the year in preparation for the printed edition which is distributed in April. All the latest information will be published online on Tuesday 3 January.

Cable & Wireless Marketing Manager, Steve Eldridge, said: “The Guernsey Directory is the most accurate and up to date source of telephone information in the Bailiwick. We aim to keep it that way by giving everyone the chance to make final changes”.

Customers who wish to check their Guernsey Directory details but do not have access to the Internet are invited to use our free online facilities at Centenary House, La Vrangue.

Mr Eldridge said that although the Directory is 100 years old, most improvements had happened fairly recently.

“Imagine if you’d told people 100 years ago that the Centenary edition of the Guernsey Directory would be available on a phone in their pocket”.

“We launched the online Directory in 2004 and, as well as becoming a popular web facility, people using the Cable & Wireless Lifestyle service have the Guernsey Directory on their mobiles”.

“But we know many people really look forward to what’s in the printed Directory, especially the cover shot. This year we’ll have some extra surprises too as it’s a special edition”.
