iPad might take time to reach island

“We are very excited by the launch of Apple’s new iPad device. Aside from looking fantastic, it is another step forward for tablet computers and e-readers. The device will allow people to watch films, read books, listen to music, look at maps, browse the web and email, and is one of a number of devices now offering similar functions. We have invested heavily in broadband and 3G networks to help customers enjoy using these devices at fast speeds as they come into the market,” said Paul Taylor, Marketing Director for Sure.
“I don’t know how quickly the iPad device will be available in Guernsey. We know that Apple has had limited distribution of its devices at launch in the past. The 3G version is due out in April and we are working to make sure customers can get access to these new technologies when possible,” he added.
