GEORGETOWN TODDLERS GET CRAFTY!
Toddlers from the Georgetown Methodist Church
Parent and Toddler group had a nice surprise last Monday.
The group received a big box brimming with arts
and crafts materials which included over 20 different colours of
paint, glitter paints, paint brushes and glue spreaders.
Parent and toddler Group Leader Beverly Waller,
was taken aback by the gift which was delivered by hand on Monday
morning.
“I had no idea we would be receiving the box of
craft supplies,” she said.
“We were busy getting on with our usual
activities for the day when two ladies arrived with the box. They
explained that they were from Sure and that they had come to give
us a gift as part of Random Act of Kindness day. I couldn’t believe
it. We are very thankful to them for their generosity and the
children have had a great time getting crafty!”
Sure celebrated Random Act of Kindness day on
25th January, scientifically pin-pointed as the most depressing day
of the year. The RAK team in Jersey spent the day surprising people
across the island with various gifts and acts of kindness.
“The Georgetown arts and crafts donation was
just one of the RAKs we performed on 25th January,” explained Steve
Smith, Sure’s Head of Customer Propositions & PR.
“I am delighted to hear that the children have
enjoyed the gift and that the group were able to feel the full
impact of RAK day. It doesn’t take much to make someone’s day and
we certainly made a lot of people smile. We hope that next year’s
RAK day will be bigger and better with more and more local
businesses and community groups getting involved.”
