Sure launches Island’s cheapest broadband.

Telecoms provider Sure has announced that it will be offering the cheapest broadband service in the Isle of Man from November. The new service, available for pre-order from the 8th of October, will offer unlimited access to the fastest speed available on island – 16 megabytes.

Sure pay monthly mobile customers will be able to get the service from £14.95 per month, which is significantly lower than the prices offered by Manx Telecom (£26.95) and WiManx (£25.00). Non-Sure pay monthly mobile customers will pay £21.95 per month.

Andy Bridson, Chief Commercial Officer at Sure, commented on the launch of the new service: “This is a very exciting time for Sure and for broadband users in the Isle of Man. Islanders will soon be able to benefit from the same reliability and value for money in their broadband as they have come to expect from existing Sure mobile services.”

Sure is already the largest broadband provider in Guernsey, and the largest provider of internet connectivity across the Channel Islands.

Mr Bridson said: “We are very proud to be serving the Isle of Man, and we will be using all our existing technical experience and knowledge to provide islanders with a fantastic, great value service.”

A recent survey conducted by Sure found that 79% of Manx residents don’t know when their current broadband contract expires. Mr Bridson also commented on this statistic: “We would encourage people to check when their contract expires, it is always worth shopping around to ensure you are getting the best deal. Whether or not you are an existing customer, Sure can provide you with a great broadband service at the lowest price you can get.”

Sure will also be upgrading their mobile services at the beginning of November. A new range of high speed mobile products will be made available and work is currently underway to upgrade the Sure network to full 3G+ coverage, which will go live in November. These new services will give Sure customers super fast data access on their mobiles, as well as at home.
