Ramsey awaits opening of new bowling and leisure centre

The Sure Strike Bowling and Leisure Centre, a complete ten-lane bowling alley with its own American-style bar and grill, pro shop, soft play area for children and gym is set to open on Queen’s Promenade in Ramsey on Saturday 7^th May.  The launch will be marked with a Family Fun Day, featuring juggling acts, balloon animals, face painting, a colouring competition and a Young Magicians of Mann show for the kids.  Adults will be able to enjoy the food from the new Sure Strike Bar and Grill restaurant and a display of classic American cars, which will be parked outside all day.

The leisure facility is set to be opened on the Saturday morning by Ramsey Commissioners Chairman Nigel Malpass, who will ‘cut the ribbon’ on the doors at 10am.  The general public are invited to watch the official opening at 10am and can start bowling from 11am.   There will also be a competition run by 3FM to be the very first to bowl on Saturday.  Ten lucky winners will be selected this week to throw the first ball with the highest scorer getting their very own bowling ball.

Sure have also announced that the first person to bowl a ‘Sure Strike’ at the centre will receive a free Motorola Milestone 2, an Android powered smartphone worth £430.  A ‘Sure Strike’ requires getting ten consecutive strikes in a game.

Sure’s Rose Dahlan commented: “We love to support the local community and this is a great way for us to be doing it, so we’re excited about the imminent launch.  The venue is looking fantastic and I am absolutely certain it will be well received, not just by people in Ramsey but also from across the Island.  I would encourage everyone to come along and have a go.  The Milestone is also a great gift to snap up – I’ll be really interested to see how long it takes before someone bowls a Sure Strike!”

The centre is expected to attract 100,000 visitors every year.  While many of these will be parties and regular bowling leagues, there are also annual membership packages available for keen bowlers, and Sure customers get 10% off any of the annual packages. In addition to that, Sure customers also get 50% off bowling every Wednesday.
