Isle of Man Football reaches its goal
16 August 07
Big changes are afoot for Isle of Man football
this coming season when the League, which has been called Division
One since 1951 will become the Premier League to align itself with
the UK and at the same time has teamed up with a major sponsor for
the next three years, Sure Mobile, the island’s newest mobile
operator.
Sure Mobile, part of Cable & Wireless
International, launched in the Isle of Man four weeks ago with its
innovative range of products and services and leading edge Conran
designed store in Strand Street and is now one of the best known
brands on the island.
Simon Last Sutton, Commercial Director for Sure
Mobile in the Isle of Man said, “We are delighted to be sponsoring
the new Sure Mobile Premier League, and feel that we have great
deal in common with the IoM Football Association. This is a new
beginning for both organisations and team work plays a vital role
at Sure Mobile. Getting involved in the local community is very
important to us as shown by our previous sponsorship of the TT and
Peel Bay Festival – and by supporting football on the island we can
really give something back on a long term basis.”
Tony Jones President of the IoM Football
Association said, “We are extremely excited about the launch of the
new Sure Mobile Premier League and feel that Sure Mobile is the
prefect partner to join us at this time. We are looking forward to
working closing together over the next three years. Much of the
work of the IoM Football Association is carried out by volunteers
so sponsorship is key to the ongoing success of football on the
island. We are very grateful for the support Sure Mobile has given
us.”
