Mount Murray - but due to heavy fog the ten
teams were transferred to the Pulrose golf course in
Douglas. Despite the weather and the last minute change of course,
the competition got underway
on time and was extremely successful.
The winners of the tournament were the
Horsthuis family from Robinsons with a score of 81 who
were awarded the cup and also received from Sure Mobile a high-end
multi media Nokia N73, with a
free 12 month Sure150 plan which includes bundles of minutes, texts
and data.
In second place were Barclays Private Clients
with 73 points and 4 teams tied for 3rd place with
71
points.
At the post tournament dinner at Mount Murray,
Simon Last-Sutton, Commercial Director for Cable &
Wireless in the Isle of Man said "We are delighted to be sponsoring
this event and to be helping
such a worthwhile cause on the Island - which is entirely in
keeping with Cable & Wireless'
community and sporting involvement throughout the 33 Countries we
operate in - and we very much
hope we will be able to sponsor it again next year."
A spokesman for the Red Cross said, "We are
extremely happy about the money raised from the golf day and would
like to thank Sure Mobile for their support - we are definitely
looking at making this an annual event and we hope Sure Mobile will
continue to work with us".
