Women’s football is the winner with
Sure Mobile
Sure mobile has agreed to invest over £9,000
into the development of women’s football in the island.
Sure Mobile, the sponsor of the island’s brand new football Premier
League, will sponsor the women’s league, FA Cup, Floodlit Cup and
the island women’s representative team for the next three
years.
Julie Heselton, Marketing Executive for Sure
Mobile said,
“We are extremely pleased to be able to
announce our sponsorship of women’s football. We hope to actively
help to develop both women’s and men’s football over the next few
years.”
Women’s football is now the most popular female
sport in the British Isles. That progress should continue now that
Jack Walton has been appointed as Girls’ and Women’s Football
Development Officer.
Tony Jones, The President of the Isle of Man
Football Association said,
”We are delighted that Sure Mobile is
sponsoring women’s football. Following on from the appointment of
Jack Walton, this sponsorship represents a major step forward in
the continuing development of women's football on the island. We
look forward to working in partnership with Sure Mobile over the
next three years for the benefit of the women's game."
Jack Walton agreed with this:
“The three year partnership is extremely
beneficial for the long term growth of football on the Isle of Man
as all clubs are run by volunteers. It is an exciting time to
be involved in football and we are proud to have Sure on board as a
partner.”
The Women’s football season kicked off last
Sunday and Sure Mobile held its first ‘Sure Big Match’ at Rushen
United. Sure Player of the Match was Natalie Johnson from Rushen
United. She was presented with a Nokia N73 and a Sure 12 month
contract by Sure Mobile Marketing Executive, Julie
Heselton.
