Cable & Wireless asks for extended
licence
Cable & Wireless has applied for its
existing licence to be modified, which is a step towards better
value landline, business line and broadband services in
future.
A notice of Cable & Wireless's application
for a modified telecommunications licence was published by the
Communications Commission on Friday and sets out the details
of the modifications.
The new licence would authorise Cable &
Wireless to provide a full range of services across fixed and
mobile telecommunications, but would not allow them to dig up roads
in order to lay cables.
Simon Last-Sutton, Commercial Director of Cable
and Wireless in the Isle of Man said:
"The granting of a licence extension will
further increase the Isle of Man's competitiveness whilst giving
local people more choice and value."
