Sure launches Europe's first PAYG
BlackBerry
Sure mobile has launched what is believed to be
Europe’s first Pay as you go BlackBerry price plan.
BlackBerry® is the iconic handset brand which
offers a leading wireless connectivity solution for individuals and
businesses. Developed by Research in Motion, the device is best
known for its push-to email feature which ensures that users are
kept constantly up to date with their correspondence.
Sure mobile’s Pay as you go price plan will
allow individuals to top up the handset for calls, texts and
picture messages like any other phone. BlackBerry’s data features
(internet and email) will cost just £5 a week. As an introductory
offer that charge has been reduced to just £2.50 per week until
31st March 2008.
Mark Briers, Marketing Director of Sure mobile
in the Channel Islands & Isle of Man, said:
“BlackBerry® has traditionally been viewed as a
business handset, but times are really changing. There are a lot of
individuals who now want access to BlackBerry’s famous usability.
RIM has responded with a host of new features for individuals, like
an application to easily update FaceBook on your phone. We’ll
deliver what our customers ask for, hence a payment plan which is
ahead of other European
operators.”
Paul KleinKnecht from Research in Motion,
added:
“We are extremely enthusiastic about this
innovation from Sure. I am sure that BlackBerry will have real
appeal as a product for Pay as you go customers.”
