Sure sponsors TT sidecars
Sure is to extend its involvement in the TT by
becoming the sponsor of the exhilarating Sidecar Races.
This promises to be the most exciting year ever
for the Sure Sidecar Races, with Tim Reeves, the triple world
champion sidecar racer, and undisputed number 1 in the sport,
entering the TT for the first time. He will be trying to beat local
rider Dave Molyneux, who has won the sidecar races on 13
occasions.
In addition to the sidecar sponsorship, Sure
will continue to work with TT organisers as the main technology
partner for the event. The mobile phone provider will supply the TT
marshals with Blackberry devices to help them communicate better
with each other and allow organisers to keep in touch with the
marshals with up to the minute information when they are out on the
course. The company is also working with Duke Marketing and the
Isle of Man Government to provide race information to spectators
via mobile phones for the first time.
Simon Last-Sutton, Commercial Director for Sure
in the Isle of Man said:
“We are delighted to be sponsoring the Sure
Sidecar Races, particularly as this year’s competition is going to
be so exciting. Last year’s Centenary TT was our first as a sponsor
and this year we are able to take our sponsorship to the next level
by offering much more by way of technology and innovative support.
We hope this is the beginning of a long term active association
with the TT which helps it to remain the island’s most important
sporting and tourism event.”
The Minister for Tourism, Adrian Earnshaw
added:
“I am absolutely delighted that Sure have
decided to extend their commitment to the TT Races by becoming the
sponsor of the ‘chairs.’ Sure established themselves on the island
last year and have subsequently developed a great service for the
islanders. For those spectating at the TT Races this year they will
have the chance to get regular race updates with the new Sure
service.”
