Sure appoints new Corporate Account Director

Sure continues to expand its operation in the Isle of Man, with the appointment of Steve Redford as a Corporate Account Director.

The telecoms company, has experienced rapid and sustained growth over the last 12 months and has recently had its licence amended to allow the launch of a range of new services. Mr Redford, born to Manx parents, who has worked for a range of organisations in the UK and Europe, will add extra experience to the local team.

After returning to the UK from his position as Operations Manager of Rhodes Airport for Britannia Airways/Thomson Holidays, he moved to Nottingham where he changed career path and spent three years studying for Microsoft Certified Professional qualifications (MCP) and a Diploma in Internet Communications. Originally from a sales and public relations background, Mr Redford has spent the last nine years working within the IT and communications sector. Because of the nature of his role, he continues studying to keep up with changes in the telecommunications industry

After finishing his studies and before moving to the Isle of Man, Mr Redford worked in the East Midlands area, where he held managerial positions. As Sales and Projects Manager for a start-up Internet Service Provider, Mr Redford operated an O2 dealership providing mobile phones for businesses, and bespoke fleet tracking solutions for coach operators UK-wide.

Mr Redford also worked as Sales and Operations Director for a wireless communications company, Catapult Technologies. This involved providing a range of bespoke solutions to organisations in both the public and private sectors, including working with regional councils and police forces to provide real-time IPCCTV wireless surveillance networks, high speed broadband connections and dedicated bandwidth services.
