WE CAN PICTURE SURE SKATE SUCCESS
The first weekend of Sure Skate has seen 1300
skaters take to the ice following a stunning performance from Kyran
Bracken on launch day. And now islanders are being encouraged to
send in mobile phone photos of their own antics on the ice.
Islanders are being encouraged to take their
own photos on the ice at Sure Skate and MMS these to the Sure Skate
web site, set up especially for the purpose. The best photos, which
will be selected after Sure Skate closes on 3rd January, will win a
Nokia 5630 Xpress Music handset.
The competition has been organised by Nokia
Siemens Networks and Sure as part of a joint promotion to drive
increased data usage, following Nokia Siemens Networks’ recent
upgrade of Sure’s 3G network in Jersey and the launch of 3G
services in Guernsey earlier this month.
“We are really excited to see the photos from
islanders having fun this Christmas. It will be a great website to
look through as I’m sure everyone will spot someone they know on
the ice. This competition is also a great way to demonstrate just
how fantastic 3G technology is and what can be achieved with even
the most basic mobile camera phones on sale today,” said Graham
Hughes, Chief Executive, Sure Jersey.
“This competition is a great way to encourage
people to set up their phones for MMS, see how fun picture
messaging can be, and utilise the high quality, reliable network
infrastructure which Sure has on each island,” said Andy Tempest,
head of the customer team for UK operators at Nokia Siemens
Networks.
Sure Skate is being organised in conjunction
with Kyran Bracken’s Ice Party and sponsors Sure and Nokia Siemens
Networks. The Sure Skate ice rink officially opened on 18th
December with the final day of skating scheduled for 3rd January at
Fort Regent, Jersey.
