Sure Random Acts of Kindness
Sure is encouraging islanders to make Jersey a
brighter place on the most depressing day of the year, 25th
January. By asking people to engage in Random Acts of Kindness,
Sure hopes that islanders will be able to make a bleak time of
year, a little bit brighter.
The mobile phone operator hopes that the
tremendous amount of goodwill generated by last year’s RAK day will
encourage islanders to take part again this year by making kind and
unexpected gestures to friends or strangers.
Graham Hughes, Chief Executive of Sure in
Jersey, said: “Late January is known to be the time of year when
many people feel a bit down but that could so easily be changed if
everybody just did one kind act for someone else. It’s the simple
acts that can make a great difference, such as helping someone
carry their shopping to their car or even by saying something nice
to people they meet during the day. Of course, it’s good to do
these things at any time of the year but we think that an even
greater difference can be made in late January.
“We’d like people to pledge their intention to
create at least one act of kindness by signing up on our RAK
Facebook site and we’d really like people who have benefitted from
an act of kindness to let others know by posting their experience
on the site. People should search for Sure RAK on Facebook, to find
the page.”
