Sure Buyback

Trade in your phone for cash

With the new Sure Buyback scheme you can trade in your old mobile phone and get up to £120 towards a new one.

How it works

Once you have chosen your new phone and the relevant Sure/Smart tariff in the Sure store, our salesperson will offer you the option to trade in your old mobile.

If you choose to take this option then they will be able to give you a quotation based against the current market value for your old phone - much like a trade in price for a second hand car. The valuation is quick and easy, only taking a few minutes.

If you are happy with the quotation then you can receive the trade in value as:

  • Money off your new mobile
  • A credit against your account

How much will I get for my old mobile?

You could get up to £120 but the value is dependent on the make, model, age and condition of the phone.

The scheme is only applicable for phones under four years old and it must be listed on our approved partners website. Phones must be fully functional with all body parts and battery. Trade in value will be reduced for handsets with extensive wear and tear (scuffs, scratches, dents and cracks).

The value of your phone will be decided by our approved handset redemption partner. We pass that full value decided upon to you - we take no commission.

We’ll need to see your old handset to give a true valuation cost.

Will I have to remove all information from my phone memory?

It is good practice to remove all information from your phone prior disposing of it in any way. Therefore you should reset it.

Details of how to reset your phone can be found in your user guide or our sales assistants can help you. In the event that you have not cleared all your data then Sure cannot accept liability.

What happens to my old phone?

We send your phone off to our approved redemption partners who make the very best use out of modern unwanted phones. They will refurbish them and put them to good use, for example in certain parts of the world like Africa mobile phones are fast becoming the number one form of communication and providing recycled phones to some regions opens up valuable lines of communication to those previously cut off.
