CUSTOMERS SURE TO CHANGE THEIR MOBILE
NUMBERS
With less than seven weeks to go until Mobile
Number Portability (MNP) becomes operational in Jersey, Sure mobile
has set up a pre-sign campaign for customers wishing to switch to
the network.
The introduction of MNP on 1st
December 2008 will ensure consumers can choose the best value
tariffs without having to change their mobile telephone
number. MNP has been a requirement in the UK under the
Communications Act 2003 and is also applicable in all EU
countries.
Graham Hughes, Commercial Director for Sure
mobile in Jersey, commented:
“We are working closely with the other
operators to ensure customers that MNP is in place for
1st December as we know it is something which local
mobile users have wanted for a long time. To manage demand we are
asking islanders to express an interest in moving to Sure either
in-store or online so that we can ensure that they can move quickly
after 1st December.”
Moving provider while keeping the same mobile
telephone number will be a simple process for new Sure
customers. Customers simply need to call into store, speak to
a member of staff and their number will be switched within 48 hours
of the request. This applies to both pay as you go customers
and pay monthly subscribers.

Customers pre-signing will be entered into a draw to win £1,000 of
Travelmaker vouchers.
