SURE SET FOR CLOSE SHAVE
Sure employees have been facing up to some
hairy mo-ments this month to raise money for the Prostate Cancer
Charity.
Through ‘Movember’, the Sure Shave Redemption
team have been cultivating their upper lips in the sponsored
moustache growing appeal.
Corporate Account Directors Jon McCulloch and
Gary Gannon, Retail Assistant James Baker, and PR & Marketing’s
Steve Smith and Ed Egglishaw have all ditched their razors for the
whole of November. However, they will soon be reaching for the
clippers at a sponsored shave off at the Sure store in King Street
on the 1st December, where anyone can get a free beard or head
shave between 7 and 9am, with a retiring collection for the
charity.
Prostate cancer is now the most common cancer
in men in the UK, with one in 11 diagnosed in their lifetime, and
about 10,000 dying from the disease each year.
All the money raised by the Sure Shave
Redemption will go directly to the charity, and be used to fund
research into the causes, treatment and impact of prostate cancer.
It will also provide support and information for men affected by
the disease and their families.
Sure’s Jon McCulloch, whose young daughter has
refused him a good night cuddle till he loses the fuzz, said it was
a very worthwhile cause.
“Movember is obviously light-hearted, but the
charity aspect is very important. We’re supporting the Prostate
Cancer Charity to raise awareness of men’s health issues and to
provide funds for research and care. Anyone wanting to get
involved, get a morning shave or support the Prostate Cancer
Charity will be welcome to join us at the shave off on the morning
of the 1st December,” he said.
“Knowing that we’re helping to raise awareness
is very important as the number of men affected is growing, but
prostate cancer is still not taken as seriously as it should be.
I’m sure we’ll see some really fantastic ‘taches at the end of the
month.”
